Hey everyone, Well I just started a new job, so I haven't been timely with site updates (what else is new? :p) The file downloads have been back up since the new site started, but there were no direct links to these files unless you were clicking links through the forums. I was hoping to port over all the old site content into this Joomla format, but I haven't been able to and the users are getting restless. So I've put all the old site content back up at the following link: http://www.720degrees.org/oldsite You should be able to read all the old installation tutorials, link to the old base file installations, and download that pesky 720deg_key.asc file. The old site content will remain accessible until I have managed to get it over to the new site format (as it should have been before the old server went down). We're also working on getting an updated base file set together, so expect it within the month of July. Thanks for hanging in there. |

I know everyone has been thinking that this project is dead, but it's not, it's just that its members like to leave it in states of cryogenic suspension for long spans of time. :p So to proponents of the 720degrees distribution, please don't mind as the team plays possum here and there. (ask PS how frustrating that is!) Anyway the reason for the downtime was that I had to take the old server down and transfer the content to this site. This new website was actually up the day I took the old server down, but weeks passed and I never quite got around to moving the old content, so I never told anyone about this site. Consequently, every day for the past few weeks I have had people doing searches for 720degrees on my personal website. Well enough downtime is enough, so I'm releasing this site into the public even without all the old content that used to be available. Expect it to pop up in bits and pieces periodically over the coming weeks. At the very least, I've put the repository back up, so people should be able to apt-get 720degrees specific packages now. Once the old domain name kicks in, that is. I'll never quite understand how the 720degrees distribution continues to maintain a following with all these lapses of inactivity, but I suppose I should thank our community for keeping loyal and continuing to play around with this distro. So, thanks. Hopefully, we'll be functional again soon. |
